Hub

A wheel hub is the central part on which a wheel mounts and rotates at the end of an axle.

It carries the wheel on its bearings, transmits braking and driving forces, and provides the studs or bolt holes that hold the wheel.

Wheel hubs are fitted at each wheel on the axles. The correct hub matches the axle, bearing, and wheel fixing; because it carries the wheel, service is best done by a qualified technician.
