An exhaust silencer (muffler) is the part of the exhaust system that reduces engine noise and routes exhaust gas safely away.

Chambers and baffles inside absorb sound pulses while the gas flows through; the system also carries gas away from the cab and may include emission components.

The silencer sits in the exhaust line under or beside the chassis. The correct part matches the engine, pipe diameter, and mounting.
