RELAY

A relay is an electrically operated switch that uses a small current to control a much larger one.

A low-power signal energizes a coil that closes heavy-duty contacts, letting a switch or control unit safely operate high-current devices such as lights, motors, or the starter.

Relays sit in fuse and relay boxes throughout the electrical system. The correct relay matches the circuit's voltage and current, and faults are best diagnosed by a qualified technician.
